National Association of Real Estate Editors is accepting entries until March 1
for the group’s annual journalism competition for real estate and home and
design writers and editors.
The
contest, now in its 64th year, is open to entries published in daily
newspapers; weekly business newspapers; trade, investment and shelter
magazines; commercial real estate publications; wire services; television;
radio; and websites.
The
25 contest categories include Best Blog, Best Column, Best Commercial Real
Estate Report, Best Investigative Report or Investigative Series, Best Small
Daily Newspaper Report, Best Mortgage or Financial Real Estate Report, Best
Residential Real Estate Report, and Best Home & Design Feature.
Entry
forms are available at www.NAREE.org under the “Journalism Contest” tab, and
entries will be accepted online after Feb. 5.
Up
to 75 winners will be announced and awards presented June 13 by NAREE Chairman,
Kris Hudson of the Wall Street Journal, and President Daniel Taub of Bloomberg
News at NAREE’s Annual Journalism Conference in Houston.
The
competition is judged by faculty of E. W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio
University on clarity of writing, objectivity, originality, depth of reporting,
and graphic design and production where applicable.
Founded
in 1929, NAREE is a nonprofit professional association of writers, columnists,
editors and authors covering residential, commercial and financial real estate
and urban and home design.
