TIDBITS

N
igeria needs N464tr for infrastructure development over the next 30 years. N20. 3tr would be required in the next 5 years. This translates to an annual investment average of N4tr from 2014-2018 - Shamsudeen Usman, former Minister of National Planning.

This is a far cry from the N1.6tr that government usually averages on infrastructure. However in the N4.6tr 2014 budget [not yet passed], N1.1tr is earmarked for capital expenditure which includes infrastructure development. N2.43tr is earmarked for recurrent expenditure
